What RINKADIA is
RINKADIA is a platform for professional ice hockey. Clubs find and contact verified players and coaches, directly or through the agents who represent them. Everyone goes through two checks before they are seen on the platform: who they are, and what they have actually done.

Why it exists
Hockey runs on who knows who, and on how far networks reach. A player or coach can go unseen by clubs that were looking for exactly them. A club never sees past its own network, and ends up choosing from whoever it could reach.
RINKADIA gives each side a reach beyond their own contacts. For clubs it is a way to search by role and level, see who is actually available, and know the career has been checked. For players and coaches it is a place where their information is their own: they fill in the profile themselves and decide what clubs get to see. For agents, RINKADIA is a tool that supports how they already work, with one place for everyone they represent and club requests coming straight to them.
Who built it
RINKADIA was founded by Ville Kolppanen, who played 14 seasons as a professional goaltender in Liiga, the KHL and the SHL, among others, before moving into coaching in Austria. He has experienced the problem from both sides: he has signed contracts through agents, arranged jobs on his own, and as a coach had to replace an injured player in a matter of days. Every time, it came down to networks, and that is why he started building RINKADIA.
