RINKADIA FAQ

For players and coaches

What is RINKADIA?

RINKADIA is a platform for professional ice hockey where clubs find and contact verified players and coaches, directly or through their agents. It launches in November 2026 and is free for players and coaches.

What does “verified” mean on RINKADIA?

Two checks, and both have to pass before any club can see your profile.

First, who you are, confirmed against an official identity document through a dedicated identity verification provider.

Second, your career: the clubs and leagues you have played or coached in, read through by a person at RINKADIA and checked against publicly available information.

Verified is not a judgement of how good you are or whether you fit a particular job.

What happens to my ID?

RINKADIA never stores it. The identity check is done by a dedicated identity verification provider, and your document stays on their system, not ours. We can view it there for a short time while we complete the check, and then it is deleted. RINKADIA never holds a copy.

Will my current club see that I am on RINKADIA?

Not unless you want them to. You can hide from your current club, and from any other club you choose, and they will not see you in their search results at all.

Nobody sees a name in search in any case. Clubs see an anonymous card, and your name appears only when a club opens your profile.

What about my agent?

Agents are part of RINKADIA and work from their own workspace. If your agent is linked to your profile, they keep your status current and handle the requests clubs send you. You also appear in their own list, which gives clubs a second way to find you, as an anonymous card like anywhere else. If you are not linked, you run everything yourself. RINKADIA does not change the arrangement between you and your agent.

An agent cannot edit your profile, which stays yours. They can add a short note that a club sees when it opens your profile. A club sees who represents you only at that point, never in search, and can then contact your agent directly. You can remove the link at any time.

What happens if my agent leaves their agency?

If your agent works at an agency, the link is to the individual agent who represents you, not to the agency as a whole. When a club wants to reach you, the request goes to that agent. If they leave the agency, your availability and your blocks return to you until you accept a named colleague, and you can also choose to manage everything yourself.

Do I have to be a professional coach?

No. RINKADIA is open to ice hockey coaches at every level and in every role, as long as you are 18 years old or over. Head coaches, assistant coaches, goaltending, video, skills and strength and conditioning coaches are all included, from grassroots and junior hockey upwards. The verification is about what you have done, not about the level you did it at.

A coach can also upload a CV to the profile, which clubs see once they open it.

How long does it take to create a profile?

About ten minutes. Most of it is quick: your position, your clubs, your seasons. The part worth slowing down for is what you write about yourself, because that is the part clubs read. You do not have to finish in one sitting, and you can always come back and change anything.

After that, a person at RINKADIA checks your career before the profile goes live. This usually takes one to three business days, and until it is done your profile is pending: you can see it, no club can. Once it is live, clubs can find you in their searches, and all you have to do is answer when one gets in touch.

What does it cost for players and coaches?

Nothing. Players and coaches use RINKADIA for free.

Can clubs see whether I am looking?

Yes. Your profile carries a status and clubs see it. Available means you are looking. Selective means you would consider the right approach. Unavailable means your profile stays visible but you cannot be contacted.

If you are not linked to an agent, you set your own status and can change it whenever you want. If you are linked to an agent, your agent keeps it current from their workspace.

For agents

How does the agent side work?

Agents and agencies work from their own workspace. One person signs the agency up and becomes its admin user. Once RINKADIA has verified the agency, that person adds the other agents.

Each agent has their own list of the players and coaches who have linked to them. For each one, the agent sets the status clubs see, can add a short note that shows when a club opens the profile, and receives the requests clubs send.

A person is linked to one named agent, the one whose invitation they accepted. Requests go to that agent, not to the agency.

An agent cannot edit a player’s or coach’s profile. That stays with the person.

What does it cost for agents?

Agents and agencies that come in at the start have RINKADIA free for this season and the next, 2026-27 and 2027-28. There will be a fee after that.

For clubs

What can a club search?

RINKADIA has four separate searches: players, coaches, women players and agencies. A club picks the one it needs and searches within it.

How does a club get verified?

A club registers with its official registration number or VAT number, and a person at RINKADIA checks it. Clubs that sign up with a club email address are confirmed that way; clubs using a personal address are confirmed by phone. Verification usually takes one to three business days. Until it is complete a club can search and save profiles but cannot open them or contact anyone.

Can a club see an agent’s roster?

Yes. Agencies appear as their own section, separate from players and coaches. Opening an agency card shows the agents who work there, and each agent’s profile shows how many players and coaches they represent, as anonymous cards like anywhere else. A name appears only when a club opens that profile. Clubs can also search for agencies by country.

Is there a free version for clubs?

Yes. Any verified club can search and filter for free and save up to five profiles. A club gets three opens when it registers, which stay until they are used, and one more each month, which expires at the end of that month. Beyond that it can buy more opens.

Club Pro removes the limits: unlimited opens, unlimited saved profiles, and notifications when someone a club has saved changes status.

Searching is always free.

How does a club contact a player or coach?

In two steps. First the club opens the profile. That shows the person’s name and career, but not their contact details. Then the club sends a conversation request, with its name and a message. It goes to the player or coach, or to their agent if they are linked to one. If the answer is yes, the club gets the contact details and the conversation can continue on RINKADIA or anywhere else. If it is no, nothing is shared and no explanation is needed.

How do clubs in Europe find coaches?

Mostly by asking around. A sporting director calls a few people they know and trust and asks who is available. Very few coaching jobs are ever posted publicly.
